Lois Bolin Heaton
My name is Lois Marion Bolin Heaton. I was born in Amarillo,
Texas on February 17, 1919, one of five children, all girls, and
after my mother died when I was young, I helped my father, and later
my stepmother, in bringing up my siblings.
My husband's name was Lloyd Marvin Heaton. We were
married in Clovis, New Mexico September 19, 1936 and we were together
52 years. He died in September 1989. We had five children: four girls
and one boy all of whom we brought up on farms we owned and worked.
I have written short poems all my life. In addition,
I have done pencil or ink sketches as long as I can remember. My inspiration
comes from the world and people around me.
I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was a regular pioneer for thirteen
and a half years. Now at age eighty-six, I have osteoporosis and had
to quit pioneering in July 2005. Today my dog Wishbone and I live
in the Billy V. Hall Senior Housing Complex in Gravette, Arkansas.
I would love to hear from anyone who wishes to write to me via e-mail.
