JOSEPH FARLEY, POET

In Praise of Harmonicas

a pretty girl
is like a
harmonica.

think about it,
but not too much.

there goes a
lovely instrument.

I'd love to play
a jazzy tune
on her.

Your Flesh Inspires

slick as a prick
dripping with
your juices
this pen slides
along the page
painting your body
in words
all pink
and drenched
in sweat:
sheets and
shirts
and yellowed
pages
I want to
write you
and read you
over and over.
